Back To School Backpacks
Backpacks with school supplies were provided to over 80 children in grades K thru 6 at the Octorara Primary Building. For each grade, teachers identified the supplies that were needed and PCCO member churches purchased the backpacks and supplies, relieving the client families of the need to purchase these items. Episcopal Church of the Ascension and Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church coordinated the event.
Winter Coats Drive
Approximately 300 donated coats were provided to local families.
Thanksgiving Turkey Drive Thru
Frozen turkeys with all the trimmings were provided to 230 families who wanted to prepare their own Thanksgiving meal.

Octorara Area Food Cupboard
During January thru November 2012, the PCCO Mobile Food Pantry provided food to 225 to 250 families per month.
On December 4th, 2012, the Octorara Area Food Cupboard (OAFC) opened at 714 Main Street. The OAFC replaces the PCCO Mobile Food Pantry that was held monthly. The change of name better reflects the mission of the food cupboard to serve residents of the Octorara Area School District, while the change of location reduces congestion and provides more flexible hours for clients. During December, the OAFC served 277 families.
